Mary Gail Tidwell

Mary Gail Tidwell, 70, died Saturday, August 17, 2013. She was born 20 February 1943, Rogers, Arkansas, the daughter of Verel and Alberta Westover. She was preceded in death by her son, Denny W. Ferrin, Jr., her grandson, Denny W. Ferrin, III and her daughter, Mary Rosalie Logan. Mary spent many years working as an LPN. She was a member of St. Matthew's Church and Topeka Genealogical Society. She loved researching her family roots and hosting reunions. She loved her children and was involved in their activities of scouting, concerts, school, baseball, wrestling, and football. She inspired family and friends with her love of music. Her love of children continued with being a foster parent for seven years. Her grandchildren will remember most her special recipes of barbeque meatballs and sugar cookies. She had wonderful memories of the many places around the world where she lived. She is survived by her son, Verel Tidwell and wife, Tammy of Topeka, her daughters, Pam McDowell of Topeka and Kamie Thurman of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, her sister Merna Murphy of Galatin, Tennessee, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013, with service and visitation at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka, KS 66614. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Wilsey Cemetery in Wilsey, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be sent to Midland Hospice in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral home.
