Jackie Elliott (Wallgren)

Jackie Elliott (Wallgren)

Jacquelyn Kay Elliott Wallgren passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Jacquelyn was born on July 14, 1943 to Jack McNeil Elliott and Lucille Claire (Lux) Elliott in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jackie’s Daddy was a Pilot in the Air Force during WWII and was deployed at the time of her birth. Jack did not meet his baby girl until 18 months later. Because of her Daddy’s military career, Jackie moved around every two years and lived in many places such as Guam, Wyoming, Japan, Hawaii, Colorado, etc. Jackie completed high school at Highland Park High School in Topeka, KS.

Jackie married right out of high school and to this union she had three daughters, Kim, Karly and Krisy. The marriage did not last and in 1967 she moved herself and her three young daughters from New Jersey back to Topeka. On July 14, 1968, Jackie was introduced to Rich Wallgren, his family was known by her Daddy from years of pheasant hunting in Rich’s hometown of Logan, KS. Jackie and Rich had a whirlwind romance and were married two weeks later on July 19 1968. Richard became a father to Jackie’s three girls and the new family of five settled in Topeka. Nine months later, Richard Wesley was born in Topeka, Kansas and this completed the family…or so they thought. Two years after welcoming Richard Wesley, Jackie gave birth to another son, Richard (Rick) Lee Jr. in Topeka, KS. It was shortly after this time that Richard Lee Sr. decided to move his family to Logan, KS where they lived for the next 41 years.

Rich and Jackie moved back to Topeka in 2012 after Rich’s retirement. Jackie spent the next 10 years enjoying the company of her mother, sister Meredith, her brother Neil (Jack) and her children. Jackie loved everyone…she was an awesome Wife, Sister, Mom, G, GG, and Friend. Jackie loved to sit and listen to her children tell stories and laugh. She called everyone “hun” and remained a southern bell with the manners of royalty. Jackie never said a swear word unless asked to do so by one of her ornery children. She could light up a room with her smiles and laughter and one could always feel the love she emitted through her presence. Jackie was very artistic and creative, she utilized this gift by decorating her home and loved to change things around daily. Rich always said “You could not be blind and live in our home”. Rich and her children were proud of her ability to make her home warm and inviting.

Jackie was preceded in death by her Daddy, Jack McNeil Elliott Sr and Mother, Lucille Claire Elliott and one sister, Vickey Lucille “Elliott” Foster.

Jackie’s greatest legacy is the love she leaves behind that is embodied in her 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and her beautiful dog, Angel. Jacquelyn Kay Elliott Wallgren was the epitome of love and will be forever missed by her husband, Richard Lee Wallgren Sr and her children, Kim Hoback, Karly Rogers, Krisy Seitz, Rich (Candel) Wallgren and Rick (Elsie) Wallgren. She was very close to her Grandchildren, Laici (Tim) Smith, Kodi (Bethanie)Wallgren, Kohl Yoder, Kalli Yoder and Diane Wallgren. Jackie also leaves behind one brother Jack (Denise) McNeil Elliott Jr. and one sister Meredith Ann Currie and two sisters-in-law Gingy (Wallgren) Baskett and Karen Wallgren.

Jackie was a very spiritual person and had a close relationship with God. She has gifted all of those she left behind with her many lessons of love, her brilliant light and her ability to always see the positive in every situation. The world needs more Jackie’s!!
