Marian Jeannie (Barngrover) Gay, 70, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at Midland Hospice House on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Jeannie was born on August 8, 1943, in Topeka KS to Cassius A. and Grace I. (Neely) Barngrover. She attended Topeka schools and graduated from Highland Park High School. She married Glenn Michael Gay on July 12, 1963. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2004. Jeannie was a member of Mater Dei Catholic Parish, Shawnee Boat and Ski Club and volunteered for many years at Assumption Grade School in the library. She also owned, with Glenn, GMG Cooling Inc. and worked as the accountant for many years. Jeannie is survived by her son Michael Glenn Gay, Norman OK; daughter-in-law, Juliet Gay, Norman OK; grandsons, Colton and Caemon Gay, Norman OK; and brothers, Clyde Barngrover, Grantville KS and Cassius (Cash) Barngrover, Jr., Topeka KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; sisters Betty Jones and Bertha Weaver; and brother William Bill Barngrover. Visitation for Jeannie will be Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church 204 SW 8th St, Topeka KS, with burial to follow in Overbrook Cemetery.
